आकाङ्क्षन्ते च दौहित्रान अपि नित्यं पितामहाः तान सवयं वै परित्रास्ये रक्षन्ती जीवितं पितुः ॥ १-१४७-६ ॥
'The ancestors seek grandsons through daughters like me (as a means of salvation). But I will ensure their salvation by protecting my father's life.' ॥ 1-147-6 ॥
english translation
AkAGkSante ca dauhitrAna api nityaM pitAmahAH tAna savayaM vai paritrAsye rakSantI jIvitaM pituH ॥ 1-147-6 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptभराता च मम बालॊ ऽयं गते लॊकम अमुं तवयि अचिरेणैव कालेन विनश्येत न संशयः ॥ १-१४७-७ ॥
'My brother is still young, and there is little doubt that he will perish if you die now. If you, my father, pass away and my brother follows you, the ancestral offerings will be suspended, greatly harming our ancestors.' ॥ 1-147-7 ॥
english translation
bharAtA ca mama bAlò 'yaM gate lòkama amuM tavayi acireNaiva kAlena vinazyeta na saMzayaH ॥ 1-147-7 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptताते ऽपि हि गते सवर्गे विनष्टे च ममानुजे पिण्डः पितॄणां वयुच्छिद्येत तत तेषाम अप्रियं भवेत ॥ १-१४७-८ ॥
'Left behind by my father, brother, and mother (as she will not survive her husband and son), I will be plunged deeper and deeper into sorrow, ultimately perishing in great distress.' ॥ 1-147-8 ॥
english translation
tAte 'pi hi gate savarge vinaSTe ca mamAnuje piNDaH pitRRNAM vayucchidyeta tata teSAma apriyaM bhaveta ॥ 1-147-8 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptपित्रा तयक्ता तथा मात्रा भरात्रा चाहम असंशयम दुःखाद दुःखतरं पराप्य मरियेयम अतथॊचिता ॥ १-१४७-९ ॥
'Having been abandoned by father, mother, and brother, undoubtedly, I will be more sorrowful than the sorrow itself, and thus, it would be inappropriate to survive.' ॥ 1-147-9 ॥

pitrA tayaktA tathA mAtrA bharAtrA cAhama asaMzayama duHkhAda duHkhataraM parApya mariyeyama atathòcitA ॥ 1-147-9 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतवयि तव अरॊगे निर्मुक्ते माता भराता च मे शिशुः संतानश चैव पिण्डश च परतिष्ठास्यत्य असंशयम ॥ १-१४७-१० ॥
'When you, my father, are safe and sound, my mother, brother, and I are all well, undoubtedly the family lineage and ancestral offerings will be preserved.' ॥ 1-147-10 ॥

tavayi tava aròge nirmukte mAtA bharAtA ca me zizuH saMtAnaza caiva piNDaza ca paratiSThAsyatya asaMzayama ॥ 1-147-10 ॥
