[ध] पाण्डॊर विदुर सर्वाणि परेतकार्याणि कारय राजवद राजसिंहस्य माद्र्याश चैव विशेषतः ॥ १-११८-१ ॥

'Vaisampayana continued, 'Dhritarashtra then instructed, 'O Vidura, conduct the funeral ceremonies of that eminent king, Pandu, and also of Madri, in a manner befitting their royal status.'" ॥ 1-118-1 ॥

पशून वासांसि रत्नानि धनानि विविधानि च पाण्डॊः परयच्छ माद्र्याश च येभ्यॊ यावच च वाञ्छितम ॥ १-११८-२ ॥

'To benefit their souls, distribute livestock, clothing, gems, and various forms of wealth, ensuring each person receives as much as they desire.' ॥ 1-118-2 ॥

यथा च कुन्ती सत्कारं कुर्यान माध्र्यास तथा कुरु यथा न वायुर नादित्यः पश्येतां तां सुसंवृताम ॥ १-११८-३ ॥

'Provide the same honor to Madri as you would to Kunti, and ensure that no distinction is made, like the wind does not differentiate between day and night, seeing them both equally adorned.' ॥ 1-118-3 ॥

न शॊच्यः पाण्डुर अनघः परशस्यः स नराधिपः यस्य पञ्च सुता वीरा जाताः सुरसुतॊपमाः ॥ १-११८-४ ॥

'Do not lament for the blameless Pandu. He was a noble king and has left behind him five heroic sons, comparable to the celestial beings themselves.' ॥ 1-118-4 ॥

[व] विदुरस तं तथेत्य उक्त्वा भीष्मेण सह भारत पाण्डुं संस्कारयाम आस देशे परमसंवृते ॥ १-११८-५ ॥

'Vaisampayana continued, 'Then, O Bharata, Vidura, in agreement with Bhishma, said, 'Let it be so,' and selected a holy site for the funeral rites of Pandu." ॥ 1-118-5 ॥
