[व] ततः काव्यॊ भृगुश्रेष्ठः समन्युर उपगम्य ह वृषपर्वाणम आसीनम इत्य उवाचाविचारयन ॥ १-७५-१ ॥

'Vaisampayana said, 'Then Kavya, the foremost of Bhrigu's line, became angry. And approaching Vrishaparvan where the latter was seated, and began to address him without weighing his words.' ॥ 1-75-1 ॥

नाधर्मश चरितॊ राजन सद्यः फलति गौर इव पुत्रेषु वा नप्तृषु वा न चेद आत्मनि पश्यति फलत्य एव धरुवं पापं गुरु भुक्तम इवॊदरे ॥ १-७५-२ ॥

'"O king," he said, "sinful acts do not yield fruit immediately like the Earth does. Instead, they gradually and secretly erode their perpetrators. Such consequences manifest within oneself, one's offspring, or future generations. Sins inevitably reap their consequences, akin to rich food that can never be fully digested."' ॥ 1-75-2 ॥

यद अघातयथा विप्रं कचम आङ्गिरसं तदा अपापशीलं धर्मज्ञं शुश्रूषं मद्गृहे रतम ॥ १-७५-३ ॥

'And due to your slaying of Kacha, the Brahmana and virtuous grandson of Angiras, who was well-versed in the precepts of religion and diligent in his duties.' ॥ 1-75-3 ॥

वधाद अनर्हतस तस्य वधाच च दुहितुर मम वृषपर्वन निबॊधेदं तयक्ष्यामि तवां सबान्धवम सथातुं तवद विषये राजन न शक्ष्यामि तवया सह ॥ १-७५-४ ॥

'While dwelling in my abode, because of this act of slaughter and the maltreatment of my daughter as well, know this, O Vrishaparvan—I shall depart from you and your kin. Indeed, O king, I cannot remain alongside you any longer for these reasons.' ॥ 1-75-4 ॥

अहॊ माम अभिजानासि दैत्य मिथ्या परलापिनम यथेमम आत्मनॊ दॊषं न नियच्छस्य उपेक्षसे ॥ १-७५-५ ॥

'Do you think me a senseless liar, O chief of the Asuras? You dismiss your wrongdoing without attempting to rectify it!' ॥ 1-75-5 ॥
