[नारद] उत्सवे वृत्तमात्रे तु तरैलॊक्याकाङ्क्षिणाव उभौ मन्त्रयित्वा ततः सेनां ताव आज्ञापयतां तदा ॥ १-२०२-१ ॥

'Narada continued, "Once the festivities concluded, the brothers Sunda and Upasunda, eager for sovereignty over the three worlds, deliberated and then ordered their armies to be assembled."' ॥ 1-202-1 ॥

सुहृद्भिर अभ्यनुज्ञातौ दैत्य वृद्धैश च मन्त्रिभिः कृत्वा परास्थानिकं रात्रौ मघासु ययतुस तदा ॥ १-२०२-२ ॥

'Having secured the approval of their friends, relatives, elders of the Daitya race, and ministers of state, and after performing the necessary rites of departure, they embarked on their journey during the night when the constellation Magha was rising.' ॥ 1-202-2 ॥

गदा पट्टिशधारिण्या शूलमुद्गर हस्तया परस्थितौ सहधर्मिण्या महत्या दैत्य सेनया ॥ १-२०२-३ ॥

'The brothers set out with a formidable Daitya force, dressed in armor and wielding maces, axes, lances, and clubs.' ॥ 1-202-3 ॥

मङ्गलैः सतुतिभिश चापि विजयप्रतिसंहितैः चारणैः सतूयमानौ तु जग्मतुः परया मुदा ॥ १-२०२-४ ॥

'The Daitya heroes embarked on their expedition with joyful hearts, accompanied by charanas chanting auspicious panegyrics that foretold their future triumphs.' ॥ 1-202-4 ॥

ताव अन्तरिक्षम उत्पत्य दैत्यौ कामगमाव उभौ देवानाम एव भवनं जग्मतुर युद्धदुर्मदौ ॥ १-२०२-५ ॥

'Fierce in battle, the Daitya brothers, who could traverse anywhere at will, ascended into the skies and journeyed to the realm of the celestials.' ॥ 1-202-5 ॥
