[वै] ततः संवादिते तस्मिन्न अनुज्ञातॊ धनंजयः गतां रैवतके कन्यां विदित्वा जनमेजय वासुदेवाभ्यनुज्ञातः कथयित्वेतिकृत्यताम ॥ १-२१२-१ ॥

'Vaisampayana said, "Then Dhananjaya, after receiving Yudhishthira's approval and confirming that the maiden had gone to Raivataka Hill, consulted with Vasudeva to settle all necessary matters and obtained his approval as well."' ॥ 1-212-1 ॥

'Having understood Krishna's opinion, the best among the Bharatas (Arjuna) set out.' ॥ 1-212-2 ॥

'With a golden chariot, properly adorned, equipped with an excellent army, and adorned with tinkling bells.' ॥ 1-212-3 ॥

सर्वशस्त्रॊपपन्नेन जीमूतरवनादिना जवलिताग्निप्रकाशेन दविषतां हर्षघातिना ॥ १-२१२-४ ॥

'With every kind of weapon, its wheels clattering like the roar of thunder, the chariot's splendor blazed like fire, striking terror into the hearts of all foes.' ॥ 1-212-4 ॥

'Yoked to the steeds Saivya and Sugriva, he set out as if on a hunting expedition, accoutered in mail, armed with a sword, and his fingers encased in leather gloves.' ॥ 1-212-5 ॥
