[षक] राजन सर्षप मात्राणि परच छिद्राणि पश्यसि आत्मनॊ बिल्वमात्राणि पश्यन्न अपि न पश्यसि ॥ १-६९-१ ॥
'Shakuntala responded, "O King, you readily observe the faults of others, no matter how minuscule, yet you remain oblivious to your shortcomings, even when they are as significant as the Vilwa fruit."' ॥ 1-69-1 ॥
english translation
मेनका तरिदशेष्व एव तरिदशाश चानु मेनकाम ममैवॊद्रिच्यते जन्म दुःषन्त तव जन्मतः ॥ १-६९-२ ॥
'Menaka is counted among the celestial beings, indeed, she is esteemed as the foremost of the celestials. Consequently, my birth, O Dushmanta, is significantly elevated beyond yours.' ॥ 1-69-2 ॥

कषिताव अटसि राजंस तवम अन्तरिक्षे चराम्य अहम आवयॊर अन्तरं पश्य मेरुसर्षपयॊर इव ॥ १-६९-३ ॥
'You tread upon the Earth, O king, while I soar through the skies! Behold, the distinction between us is akin to the contrast of (the mountain) Meru and a mustard seed!' ॥ 1-69-3 ॥

महेन्द्रस्य कुबेरस्य यमस्य वरुणस्य च भवनान्य अनुसंयामि परभावं पश्य मे नृप ॥ १-६९-४ ॥
'I traverse the abodes of Mahendra, Kubera, Yama, and Varuna. Behold my power, O king.' ॥ 1-69-4 ॥

सत्यश चापि परवादॊ ऽयं यं परवक्ष्यामि ते ऽनघ निदर्शनार्थं न दवेषात तच छरुत्वा कषन्तुम अर्हसि ॥ १-६९-५ ॥
'The statement I'm about to mention, O blameless one, is indeed accurate. I bring it up for illustrative purposes, not with ill intentions. Therefore, it is fitting for you to forgive me after you have heard it.' ॥ 1-69-5 ॥
