अश्रद्धेयम इदं वाक्यं कथयन्ती न लज्जसे विशेषतॊ मत्सकाशे दुष्टतापसि गम्यताम ॥ १-६८-७६ ॥
'You do not feel ashamed while speaking these unbelievable words. Especially in my presence, you should leave, O wicked ascetic.' ॥ 1-68-76 ॥
english translation
कव महर्षिः सदैवॊग्रः साप्सरा कव च मेनका कव च तवम एवं कृपणा तापसी वेषधारिणी ॥ १-६८-७७ ॥
'Who is that eminent sage, and who is Menaka, the celestial nymph? And why do you, so forlorn, wear the guise of a hermit?' ॥ 1-68-77 ॥
english translation
अतिकायश च पुत्रस ते बालॊ ऽपि बलवान अयम कथम अल्पेन कालेन शालस्कन्ध इवॊद्गतः ॥ १-६८-७८ ॥
'Your son has indeed grown quickly. Though you describe him as a boy, he is robust and sturdy. How has he developed so rapidly, like a shoot from the Sala tree?' ॥ 1-68-78 ॥
english translation
सुनिकृष्टा च यॊनिस ते पुंश्चली परतिभासि मे यदृच्छया कामरागाज जाता मेनकया हय असि ॥ १-६८-७९ ॥
'Your origins are humble, and your words carry the tone of impropriety. It seems you were conceived in a moment of passion by Menaka.' ॥ 1-68-79 ॥

सर्वम एतत परॊक्षं मे यत तवं वदसि तापसि नाहं तवाम अभिजानामि यथेष्टं गम्यतां तवया ॥ १-६८-८० ॥
'O ascetic-clad woman, all you have spoken is unfamiliar to me. I do not recognize you. Proceed wherever you wish.' ॥ 1-68-80 ॥
