[स] जाम्बूनदमयॊ भूत्वा मरीचिविकचॊज्ज्वलः परविवेश बलात पक्षी वारिवेग इवार्णवम ॥ १-१९-१ ॥

'Santi said, 'And that bird, assuming a golden body bright as the rays of the Sun, entered with great force (the region where the Soma was), like a torrent entering the ocean.' ॥ 1-29-1 ॥

सचक्रं कषुर पर्यन्तम अपश्यद अमृतान्तिके परिभ्रमन्तम अनिशं तीक्ष्णधारम अयस्मयम ॥ १-१९-२ ॥

'And he saw, placed near the Soma, a wheel of steel keen-edged, and sharp as the razor, revolving incessantly.' ॥ 1-29-2 ॥

जवलनार्कप्रभं घॊरं छेदनं सॊमहारिणाम घॊररूपं तद अत्यर्थं यन्त्रं देवैः सुनिर्मितम ॥ १-१९-३ ॥

'And that fierce instrument, of the splendor of the blazing sun and terrible form, had been devised by the gods for cutting in pieces all robbers of the Soma. Garuda, seeing a passage through it, stopped there for a moment.' ॥ 1-29-3 ॥

तस्यान्तरं स दृष्ट्वैव पर्यवर्तत खेचरः अरान्तरेणाभ्यपतत संक्षिप्याङ्गं कषणेन ह ॥ १-१९-४ ॥

'Diminishing his body, in an instant he passed through the spokes of that wheel. And evading the attack in an instant.' ॥ 1-29-4 ॥

अधश चक्रस्य चैवात्र दीप्तानलसमद्युती विद्युज्जिह्वौ महाघॊरौ दीप्तास्यौ दीप्तलॊचनौ ॥ १-१९-५ ॥

'Within the line of the wheel, he beheld, stationed there for guarding the Soma two great snakes of the effulgence of blazing fire, with tongues bright as the lightning-flash, of great energy, with mouth emitting fire, with blazing eyes, containing poison.' ॥ 1-29-5 ॥
