महावीर्या महॊत्साहास तेन ते बहुधा कषताः रेजुर अभ्रघनप्रख्या रुधिरौघप्रवर्षिणः ॥ १-१८-२१ ॥
'And those Yakshas of great might and courage, mangled all over by that ranger of the skies, looked like masses of black clouds dropping thick showers of blood.' ॥ 1-28-21 ॥
english translation
तान कृत्वा पतगश्रेष्ठः सर्वान उत्क्रान्त जीवितान अतिक्रान्तॊ ऽमृतस्यार्थे सर्वतॊ ऽगनिम अपश्यत ॥ १-१८-२२ ॥
'And Garuda, depriving them of life and then went to where the amrita was. And he saw that it was surrounded on all sides by fire.' ॥ 1-28-22 ॥
english translation
आवृण्वानं महाज्वालम अर्चिर्भिः सर्वतॊ ऽमबरम दहन्तम इव तीक्ष्णांशुं घॊरं वायुसमीरितम ॥ १-१८-२३ ॥
'Covering it entirely with his radiant wings, resembling a great flame from all sides,he embraced the abode of nectar, like the fierce and scorching sun devouring everything, propelled by the forceful wind.' ॥ 1-28-23 ॥
english translation
ततॊ नवत्या नवतीर मुखानां; कृत्वा तरस्वी गरुडॊ महात्मा नदीः समापीय मुखैस ततस तैः; सुशीघ्रम आगम्य पुनर जवेन ॥ १-१८-२४ ॥
'The illustrious Garuda then assumed ninety times ninety mouths and quickly drinking the waters of many rivers with those mouths and returning with great speed.' ॥ 1-28-24 ॥

जवलन्तम अग्निं तम अमित्रतापनः; समास्तरत पत्ररथॊ नदीभिः ततः परचक्रे वपुर अन्यद अल्पं; परवेष्टु कामॊ ऽगनिम अभिप्रशाम्य ॥ १-१८-२५ ॥
'That chastiser of enemies, having wings for his vehicle extinguished that fire with that water. And extinguishing that fire, he assumed a very small form, desirous of entering into (the place where the Soma was).' ॥ 1-28-25 ॥
