साध्याः पराचीं सगन्धर्वा वसवॊ दक्षिणां दिशम परजग्मुः सहिता रुद्रैः पतगेन्द्र परधर्षिताः ॥ १-१८-१६ ॥
'Overcome by the lord of birds, the Sadhyas with the Gandharvas fled eastwards, the Vasus with the Rudras towards the south.' ॥ 1-28-16 ॥
english translation
sAdhyAH parAcIM sagandharvA vasavò dakSiNAM dizama parajagmuH sahitA rudraiH patagendra paradharSitAH ॥ 1-18-16 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptदिशं परतीचीम आदित्या नासत्या उत्तरां दिशम मुहुर मुहुः परेक्षमाणा युध्यमाना महौजसम ॥ १-१८-१७ ॥
'The Adityas towards the west, and the twin Aswins towards the north. Gifted with great energy, they retreated fighting, looking back every moment on their enemy.' ॥ 1-28-17 ॥
english translation
dizaM paratIcIma AdityA nAsatyA uttarAM dizama muhura muhuH parekSamANA yudhyamAnA mahaujasama ॥ 1-18-17 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअश्वक्रन्देन वीरेण रेणुकेन च पक्षिणा करथनेन च शूरेण तपनेन च खेचरः ॥ १-१८-१८ ॥
'With his heroic neighing, the valiant Garuda, the winged one, shattered the array of the enemies like a thunderbolt, as well as with his sharp beak and scorching wings.' ॥ 1-28-18 ॥

azvakrandena vIreNa reNukena ca pakSiNA karathanena ca zUreNa tapanena ca khecaraH ॥ 1-18-18 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptउलूकश वसनाभ्यां च निमेषेण च पक्षिणा पररुजेन च संयुद्धं चकार परलिहेन च ॥ १-१८-१९ ॥
'And Garuda had encounters with the Yakshas, Aswakranda of great courage, Rainuka, the bold Krathanaka, Tapana, Uluka, Swasanaka, Nimesha, Praruja, and Pulina.' ॥ 1-28-19 ॥

ulUkaza vasanAbhyAM ca nimeSeNa ca pakSiNA pararujena ca saMyuddhaM cakAra paralihena ca ॥ 1-18-19 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतान पक्षनखतुण्डाग्रैर अभिनद विनतासुतः युगान्तकाले संक्रुद्धः पिनाकीव महाबलः ॥ १-१८-२० ॥
'And the son of Vinata mangled them with his wings, talons, and beak, like Siva himself, that chastiser of enemies, and the holder of Pinaka in rage at the end of the Yuga.' ॥ 1-28-20 ॥

tAna pakSanakhatuNDAgraira abhinada vinatAsutaH yugAntakAle saMkruddhaH pinAkIva mahAbalaH ॥ 1-18-20 ॥
