[धृ] भीष्मः शांतनवॊ विद्वान दरॊणश च भगवान ऋषिः हितं परमकं वाक्यं तवं च सत्यं बरवीषि माम ॥ १-१९८-१ ॥

'Vaisampayana replied, "Upon hearing these various speeches, Dhritarashtra said, 'The learned Bhishma, the son of Santanu, the illustrious Rishi Drona, and you as well, O Vidura, have spoken the truth and what is most beneficial to me.'"' ॥ 1-198-1 ॥

यथैव पाण्डॊस ते वीराः कुन्तीपुत्रा महारथाः तथैव धर्मतः सर्वे मम पुत्रा न संशयः ॥ १-१९८-२ ॥

'Truly, just as those mighty chariot-warriors, the heroic sons of Kunti, are the offspring of Pandu, so too are they unquestionably my sons according to the law.' ॥ 1-198-2 ॥

यथैव मम पुत्राणाम इदं राज्यं विधीयते तथैव पाण्डुपुत्राणाम इदं राज्यं न संशयः ॥ १-१९८-३ ॥

'As my sons are rightful heirs to this kingdom, so too are the sons of Pandu unquestionably entitled to it.' ॥ 1-198-3 ॥

कषत्तर आनय गच्छैतान सह मात्रा सुसत्कृतान तया च देवरूपिण्या कृष्णया सह भारत ॥ १-१९८-४ ॥

'Therefore, hasten to bring the Pandavas along with their revered mother, showing them affectionate regard. O descendant of Bharata, also bring Krishna of celestial beauty along with them.' ॥ 1-198-4 ॥

दिष्ट्या जीवन्ति ते पार्था दिष्ट्या जीवति सा पृथा दिष्ट्या दरुपद कन्यां च लब्धवन्तॊ महारथाः ॥ १-१९८-५ ॥

'Through sheer good fortune, the sons of Pritha are alive; and by good fortune alone, those mighty chariot-warriors have won the daughter of Drupada.' ॥ 1-198-5 ॥
