[व] समावृत्त वरतं तं तु विसृष्टं गुरुणा तदा परस्थितं तरिदशावासं देव यान्य अब्रवीद इदम ॥ १-७२-१ ॥

'Vaisampayana said, 'After fulfilling his vow and receiving permission from his preceptor, Kacha was preparing to depart for the celestial realm. At that moment, Devayani approached him and spoke the following words.' ॥ 1-72-1 ॥

ऋषेर अङ्गिरसः पौत्र वृत्तेनाभिजनेन च भराजसे विद्यया चैव तपसा च दमेन च ॥ १-७२-२ ॥

'O descendant of the sage Angiras, distinguished by your conduct and lineage, radiant in learning, asceticism, and humility, you shine with unparalleled brilliance.' ॥ 1-72-2 ॥

ऋषिर यथाङ्गिरा मान्यः पितुर मम महायशाः तथा मान्यश च पूज्यश च भूयॊ मम बृहस्पतिः ॥ १-७२-३ ॥

'As the illustrious sage Angiras is revered and esteemed by my father, likewise, your father is revered and worshipped by me.' ॥ 1-72-3 ॥

एवं जञात्वा विजानीहि यद बरवीमि तपॊधन वरतस्थे नियमॊपेते यथा वर्ताम्य अहं तवयि ॥ १-७२-४ ॥

'O you of immense ascetic wealth, understand this and heed what I am about to say. Remember how I behaved towards you throughout your period of vow (Brahmacharya). Now, that vow is concluded.' ॥ 1-72-4 ॥

स समावृत्त विद्यॊ मां भक्तां भजितुम अर्हसि गृहाण पाणिं विधिवन मम मन्त्रपुरस्कृतम ॥ १-७२-५ ॥

'You have now completed your education, and you deserve to be worshipped by your devoted disciple. Accept, as per the tradition, my hand in a gesture of respect, adorned with my blessings.' ॥ 1-72-5 ॥
