[कच] पूज्यॊ मान्यश च भगवान यथा तव पिता मम तथा तवम अनवद्याङ्गि पूजनीयतरा मम ॥ १-७२-६ ॥
'Kacha responded, "You are worthy of respect and veneration to me, just as your father is. O one of impeccable form, you indeed hold a place of even higher reverence in my regard!"' ॥ 1-72-6 ॥
english translation
आत्मप्राणैः परियतमा भार्गवस्य महात्मनः तवं भद्रे धर्मतः पूज्या गुरुपुत्री सदा मम ॥ १-७२-७ ॥
'You are more cherished than life itself to the noble Bhargava, O gracious one. Being the daughter of my mentor, you are always held in high esteem and worthy of reverence.' ॥ 1-72-7 ॥
english translation
यथा मम गुरुर नित्यं मान्यः शुक्रः पिता तव देव यानि तथैव तवं नैवं मां वक्तुम अर्हसि ॥ १-७२-८ ॥
'As my preceptor Sukra, your father, is always worthy of my respect, so are you, O Devayani! Therefore, it is not fitting for you to say so.' ॥ 1-72-8 ॥
english translation
[देव] गुरुपुत्रस्य पुत्रॊ वै न तु तवम असि मे पितुः तस्मान मान्यश च पूज्यश च ममापि तवं दविजॊत्तम ॥ १-७२-९ ॥
'Hearing this, Devayani replied, "You are also the son of my father's preceptor. Therefore, O best of Brahmins, you are worthy of my respect and worship." ' ॥ 1-72-9 ॥
english translation
असुरैर हन्यमाने च कच तवयि पुनः पुनः तदा परभृति या परीतिस तां तवम एव समरस्व मे ॥ १-७२-१० ॥
'While being repeatedly slain by the demons in your service, Kacha, under such dire circumstances, the care and concern you have shown towards me, please continue to show me the same.' ॥ 1-72-10 ॥
