[वै] तेन विक्रमता तूर्णम ऊरुवेगसमीरितम परववाव अनिलॊ राजञ शुचि शुक्रागमे यथा ॥ १-१३८-१ ॥

'Vaisampayana said, as the mighty Bhima advanced, the entire forest with its trees and branches seemed to tremble from the impact of his powerful chest. The movement of his thighs generated a wind akin to that which blows during the months of Jyaishtha and Ashadha (May and June).' ॥ 1-138-1 ॥

स मृद्नन पुष्पितांश चैव फलितांश च वनस्पतीन आरुजन दारु गुल्मांश च पथस तस्य समीपजान ॥ १-१३८-२ ॥

'And the mighty Bhima proceeded, making a path for himself, but treading down the trees and creepers before him.' ॥ 1-138-2 ॥

तथा वृक्षान भञ्जमानॊ जगामामित विक्रमः तस्य वेगेन पाण्डूनां मूर्च्छेव समजायत ॥ १-१३८-३ ॥

'Thus, breaking the trees as he went, the one with immense prowess proceeded, and from his speed, the Pandavas seemed to be struck with faintness.' ॥ 1-138-3 ॥

असकृच चापि संतीर्य दूरपारं भुजप्लवैः पथि परच्छन्नम आसेदुर धार्तराष्ट्र भयात तदा ॥ १-१३८-४ ॥

'Frequently swimming across challenging streams, the Pandavas disguised themselves along their journey, fearing the sons of Dhritarashtra.' ॥ 1-138-4 ॥

कृच्छ्रेण मातरं तव एकां सुकुमारीं यशस्विनीम अवहत तत्र पृष्ठेन रॊधःसु विषमेषु च ॥ १-१३८-५ ॥

'With difficulty, he carried his illustrious and delicate mother on his back, through obstructed and uneven paths.' ॥ 1-138-5 ॥
