[वै] ततॊ रात्र्यां वयतीतायाम अन्नम आदाय पाण्डवः भीमसेनॊ ययौ तत्र यत्रासौ पुरुषादकः ॥ १-१५१-१ ॥

'Continuing, Vaisampayana said, 'As the night faded, Bhima, son of Pandu, carrying the Rakshasa's meal, ventured towards the abode of the cannibal.' ॥ 1-151-1 ॥

आसाद्य तु वनं तस्य रक्षसः पाण्डवॊ बली आजुहाव ततॊ नाम्ना तदन्नम उपयॊजयन ॥ १-१५१-२ ॥

'As he approached the forest where the Rakshasa resided, the valiant Pandava began consuming the food himself, loudly summoning the Rakshasa by name.' ॥ 1-151-2 ॥

'Enraged by Bhima's calls, the Rakshasa emerged and advanced towards him.' ॥ 1-151-3 ॥

महाकायॊ महावेगॊ दारयन्न इव मेदिनीम तरिशिखां भृकुटिं कृत्वा संदश्य दशनच छदम ॥ १-१५१-४ ॥

'With a massive physique and immense strength, his eyes, beard, and hair all fiery red, he presented a terrifying sight as he strode forward, his steps leaving deep imprints on the ground. His mouth stretched from ear to ear, and his ears stood straight like arrows. His countenance was fierce, with three deep lines furrowing his forehead.' ॥ 1-151-4 ॥

भुञ्जानम अन्नं तं दृष्ट्वा भीमसेनं स राक्षसः विवृत्य नयने करुद्ध इदं वचनम अब्रवीत ॥ १-१५१-५ ॥

'Observing Bhima consuming the food, the Rakshasa advanced, gnawing his lower lip and glaring with rage. He addressed Bhima.' ॥ 1-151-5 ॥
