[वै] गत्वा तु तां भार्गव कर्मशालां; पार्थौ पृथां पराप्य महानुभावौ तां याज्ञसेनीं परमप्रतीतौ; भिक्षेत्य अथावेदयतां नराग्र्यौ ॥ १-१८२-१ ॥

'Vaisampayana said, "Then those illustrious sons of Pritha, upon returning to the potter's abode, approached their mother. They presented Yajnaseni to their mother as the alms they had obtained that day, those foremost of men."' ॥ 1-182-1 ॥

कुटी गता सा तव अनवेक्ष्य पुत्रान; उवाच भुङ्क्तेति समेत्य सर्वे पश्चात तु कुन्ती परसमीक्ष्य कन्यां; कष्टं मया भाषितम इत्य उवाच ॥ १-१८२-२ ॥

'Kunti, who was inside the room and did not see her sons, responded, saying, "Enjoy what you have obtained."' ॥ 1-182-2 ॥

साधर्मभीता हि विलज्जमाना; तां याज्ञसेनीं परमप्रप्रीताम पाणौ गृहीत्वॊपजगाम कुन्ती; युधिष्ठिरं वाक्यम उवाच चेदम ॥ १-१८२-३ ॥

'The next moment, upon seeing Krishna, she exclaimed, "Oh, what have I said?" Fearing sin and anxious about how to resolve the situation, she took Draupadi's hand reassuringly and approached Yudhishthira.' ॥ 1-182-3 ॥

इयं हि कन्या दरुपदस्य राज्ञस; तवानुजाभ्यां मयि संनिसृष्टा यथॊचितं पुत्र मयापि चॊक्तं; समेत्य भुङ्क्तेति नृप परमादात ॥ १-१८२-४ ॥

'The daughter of King Yajnasena was presented to me by your younger brothers as the alms they had obtained. Out of ignorance, O king, I said what was appropriate: 'Enjoy what has been obtained.'' ॥ 1-182-4 ॥

कथं मया नानृतम उक्तम अद्य; भवेत कुरूणाम ऋषभब्रवीहि पाञ्चालराजस्य सुताम अधर्मॊ; न चॊपवर्तेत नभूत पूर्वः ॥ १-१८२-५ ॥

'O bull of the Kuru race, tell me how my words may remain true, how sin may not touch the daughter of the King of Panchala, and how she may not feel uneasy.' ॥ 1-182-5 ॥
