दिष्ट्या वर्धामहे सर्वे दिष्ट्या शान्तः पुरॊचनः दिष्ट्या मम परं दुःखम अपनीतं महाद्युते ॥ १-१९८-६ ॥

'It is solely by good fortune that our strength has increased, and it is solely by good fortune that Purochana has perished. O illustrious one, it is by good fortune that my profound sorrow has been alleviated!' ॥ 1-198-6 ॥

diSTyA vardhAmahe sarve diSTyA zAntaH puròcanaH diSTyA mama paraM duHkhama apanItaM mahAdyute ॥ 1-198-6 ॥

[वै] ततॊ जगाम विदुरॊ धृतराष्ट्रस्य शासनात सकाशं यज्ञसेनस्य पाण्डवानां च भारत ॥ १-१९८-७ ॥

'Vaisampayana continued, "Then, at the command of Dhritarashtra, Vidura went to Yajnasena and the Pandavas, O Bharata."' ॥ 1-198-7 ॥

[vai] tatò jagAma vidurò dhRtarASTrasya zAsanAta sakAzaM yajJasenasya pANDavAnAM ca bhArata ॥ 1-198-7 ॥

तत्र गत्वा स धर्मज्ञः सर्वशास्त्रविशारदः दरुपदं नयायतॊ राजन संयुक्तम उपतस्थिवान ॥ १-१९८-८ ॥

'He went there, carrying numerous jewels and various kinds of wealth for Draupadi, the Pandavas, and also for Yajnasena. Upon reaching Drupada's residence, Vidura, well-versed in every principle of morality and profound in every branch of knowledge, respectfully greeted the king and attended to him.' ॥ 1-198-8 ॥

tatra gatvA sa dharmajJaH sarvazAstravizAradaH darupadaM nayAyatò rAjana saMyuktama upatasthivAna ॥ 1-198-8 ॥

स चापि परतिजग्राह धर्मेण विदुरं ततः चक्रतुश च यथान्यायं कुशलप्रश्न संविदम ॥ १-१९८-९ ॥

'He also warmly welcomed Vidura with respect for righteousness, and then engaged him in appropriate and thoughtful conversation, asking about his well-being.' ॥ 1-198-9 ॥

sa cApi paratijagrAha dharmeNa viduraM tataH cakratuza ca yathAnyAyaM kuzalaprazna saMvidama ॥ 1-198-9 ॥

ददर्श पाण्डवांस तत्र वासुदेवं च भारत सनेहात परिष्वज्य स तान पप्रच्छानामयं ततः ॥ १-१९८-१० ॥

'Vidura then saw there the Pandavas and Vasudeva. As soon as he saw them he embraced them from affection and enquired after their well being.' ॥ 1-198-10 ॥
