तम उत्पत्यान्तरिक्षस्थं देवानाम उपरि सथितम वर्मिणॊ विबुधाः सर्वे नानाशस्त्रैर अवाकिरन ॥ १-१८-११ ॥

'And that king of birds, of great energy, that slayer of hostile heroes, then rose on his wings.' ॥ 1-28-11 ॥

english translation

tama utpatyAntarikSasthaM devAnAma upari sathitama varmiNò vibudhAH sarve nAnAzastraira avAkirana ॥ 1-18-11 ॥

पट्टिशैः परिघैः शूलैर गदाभिश च सवासवाः कषुरान्तैर जवलितैश चापि चक्रैर आदित्यरूपिभिः ॥ १-१८-१२ ॥

'All the wise ones (the celestials) with Indra amongst them armed with double-edged broad swords, iron maces furnished with sharp spikes, pointed lances, maces, bright arrows, and many a discus of the form of the sun, saw him over head.' ॥ 1-28-12 ॥

paTTizaiH parighaiH zUlaira gadAbhiza ca savAsavAH kaSurAntaira javalitaiza cApi cakraira AdityarUpibhiH ॥ 1-18-12 ॥

नानाशस्त्रविसर्गैश च वध्यमानः समन्ततः कुर्वन सुतुमुलं युद्धं पक्षिराण न वयकम्पत ॥ १-१८-१३ ॥

'And the king of birds, attacked them on all sides with showers of various weapons and fought exceedingly hard without wavering for a moment.' ॥ 1-28-13 ॥

nAnAzastravisargaiza ca vadhyamAnaH samantataH kurvana sutumulaM yuddhaM pakSirANa na vayakampata ॥ 1-18-13 ॥

'And the son of Vinata, of great prowess blazing in the sky, attacked the godson all sides with his wings and breast.' ॥ 1-28-14 ॥

Thrown into disarray by the attack of Garuda, the gods fled in all directions, with their talons and beaks bloodied, having suffered severe injuries.' ॥ 1-28-15 ॥
