ये तव एनम अभिजानन्ति वृत्तेनाभिजनेन च तेषु साधुषु वस्तव्यं स वासः शरेष्ठ उच्यते ॥ १-७४-११ ॥
'One should live where good conduct and noble lineage are recognized and esteemed, for that is considered the best dwelling place.' ॥ 1-74-11 ॥
english translation
वाग दुरुक्तं महाघॊरं दुहितुर वृषपर्वणः न हय अतॊ दुष्करतरं मन्ये लॊकेष्व अपि तरिषु यः सपत्नश्रियं दीप्तां हीनश्रीः पर्युपासते ॥ १-७४-१२ ॥
'The harsh words spoken by Vrishaparvan's daughter sear my heart like dry wood set aflame by those wishing to ignite a fire. I can conceive of no greater misery in the three worlds than to venerate an adversary who is fortunate, while oneself is devoid of such fortune. Indeed, the learned have stated that for such a person, death would be preferable.' ॥ 1-74-12 ॥
