यॊ यजेद अपरिश्रान्तॊ मासि मासि शतं समाः न करुध्येद यश च सर्वस्य तयॊर अक्रॊधनॊ ऽधिकः ॥ १-७४-६ ॥
'He who restrains his anger and endures the reproaches of others, who remains unaffected even when praised, he indeed is the true beneficiary.' ॥ 1-74-6 ॥
english translation
yò yajeda aparizrAntò mAsi mAsi zataM samAH na karudhyeda yaza ca sarvasya tayòra akròdhanò 'dhikaH ॥ 1-74-6 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptयत कुमारा कुमार्यश च वैरं कुर्युर अचेतसः न तत पराज्ञॊ ऽनुकुर्वीत विदुस ते न बलाबलम ॥ १-७४-७ ॥
'When young men and maidens, lacking in understanding, engage in enmity, the wise should not follow them, knowing that there is no strength in their strength.' ॥ 1-74-7 ॥

yata kumArA kumAryaza ca vairaM kuryura acetasaH na tata parAjJò 'nukurvIta vidusa te na balAbalama ॥ 1-74-7 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscript[देव] वेदाहं तात बालापि धर्माणां यद इहान्तरम अक्रॊधे चातिवादे च वेद चापि बलाबलम ॥ १-७४-८ ॥
'Devayani responded, "I know, father, even as a child, the distinctions among virtues here. I understand the difference between non-anger and overbearing speech, and also recognize the strengths and weaknesses ॥ inherent in them॥."' ॥ 1-74-8 ॥

[deva] vedAhaM tAta bAlApi dharmANAM yada ihAntarama akròdhe cAtivAde ca veda cApi balAbalama ॥ 1-74-8 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptशिष्यस्याशिष्य वृत्तेर हि न कषन्तव्यं बुभूषता तस्मात संकीर्ण वृत्तेषु वासॊ मम न रॊचते ॥ १-७४-९ ॥
'In the conduct of a disciple, there should be no desire for adornment, as it is not appropriate. Therefore, I find no satisfaction in a lifestyle confined to limited activities.' ॥ 1-74-9 ॥

ziSyasyAziSya vRttera hi na kaSantavyaM bubhUSatA tasmAta saMkIrNa vRtteSu vAsò mama na ròcate ॥ 1-74-9 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptपुमांसॊ ये हि निन्दन्ति वृत्तेनाभिजनेन च न तेषु निवसेत पराज्ञः शरेयॊ ऽरथी पापबुद्धिषु ॥ १-७४-१० ॥
'A discerning individual, aspiring for virtue, should avoid dwelling among those of sinful inclination who habitually disparage noble conduct and esteemed lineage.' ॥ 1-74-10 ॥
