तेजसा निर्दहेल लॊकान कम्पयेद धरणीं पदा संक्षिपेच च महामेरुं तूर्णम आवर्तयेत तथा ॥ १-६५-३६ ॥

'He can burn the three worlds by his splendor, can, by a stamp (of his foot), cause the earth to quake. He can sever the great Meru from the earth and hurl it to any distance.' ॥ 1-65-36 ॥

english translation

tejasA nirdahela lòkAna kampayeda dharaNIM padA saMkSipeca ca mahAmeruM tUrNama Avartayeta tathA ॥ 1-65-36 ॥

तादृशं तपसा युक्तं परदीप्तम इव पावकम कथम अस्मद्विधा बाला जितेन्द्रियम अभिस्पृशेत ॥ १-६५-३७ ॥

'He can go round the ten points of the earth in a moment. How can a woman like me even touch such a one full of ascetic virtues, like unto a blazing fire, and having his passions under complete control?' ॥ 1-65-37 ॥

tAdRzaM tapasA yuktaM paradIptama iva pAvakama kathama asmadvidhA bAlA jitendriyama abhispRzeta ॥ 1-65-37 ॥

हुताशनमुखं दीप्तं सूर्यचन्द्राक्षि तारकम कालजिह्वं सुरश्रेष्ठ कथम अस्मद्विधा सपृशेत ॥ १-६५-३८ ॥

'His mouth is like unto a blazing fire; the pupils of his eyes are like the Sun and the Moon; his tongue is like unto Yama himself. How shall, O chief of the celestials, a woman like me even touch him?' ॥ 1-65-38 ॥

hutAzanamukhaM dIptaM sUryacandrAkSi tArakama kAlajihvaM surazreSTha kathama asmadvidhA sapRzeta ॥ 1-65-38 ॥

यमश च सॊमश च महर्षयश च; साध्या विश्वे वालखिल्याश च सर्वे एते ऽपि यस्यॊद्विजन्ते परभावात; कस्मात तस्मान मादृशी नॊद्विजेत ॥ १-६५-३९ ॥

'At the thought of his prowess Yama, Soma, the great Rishis, the Saddhyas, the Viswas, Valakhilyas, are terrified! How can a woman like me gaze at him without alarm?' ॥ 1-65-39 ॥

यमश च सॊमश च महर्षयश च; साध्या विश्वे वालखिल्याश च सर्वे एते ऽपि यस्यॊद्विजन्ते परभावात; कस्मात तस्मान मादृशी नॊद्विजेत ॥ १-६५-४० ॥

'However, upon your command, O King of the Celestials, I shall endeavor to approach the sage. But, O chief of the gods, please devise a strategy so that, under your protection, I can safely navigate around the sage.' ॥ 1-65-40 ॥
