नेह तवदन्यॊ विद्यते जीवलॊके; समॊ नृपः पालयिता परजानाम धृत्या च ते परीतमनाः सदाहं; तवं वा राजा धर्मराजॊ यमॊ वा ।। १-५०-११ ।।

sanskrit

'In this world of men, there is no other monarch equal to thee in the protection of subjects. I am ever well-pleased with thy abstinence. Indeed, thou art either Varuna or Yama, the god of Justice.' ।। 1-50-11 ।।

english translation

neha tavadanyò vidyate jIvalòke; samò nRpaH pAlayitA parajAnAma dhRtyA ca te parItamanAH sadAhaM; tavaM vA rAjA dharmarAjò yamò vA || 1-50-11 ||

'Like Sakra wielding the thunderbolt himself, you, O great one, are the protector of all beings in this world. In this realm, there is no man as illustrious as you, and no ruler who matches your prowess in sacrifice.' ।। 1-50-12 ।।

'You resemble Khatwanga, Nabhaga, and Dilipa in your virtues. Your prowess is comparable to that of Yayati and Mandhatri. In radiant splendor, you shine like the sun, and in your unwavering commitment to vows, O monarch, you are akin to Bhishma.' ।। 1-50-13 ।।

'Much like Valmiki with concealed energy, you possess controlled anger akin to Vasishtha. Your rulership is comparable to Indra, and your splendor radiates like that of Narayana.' ।। 1-50-14 ।।

'You are akin to Yama in your mastery of dispensing justice and resemble Krishna adorned with every virtue. Your being is the embodiment of the auspiciousness that belongs to the Vasus.' ।। 1-50-15 ।।
