दम्भॊद्भवेनासि समॊ बलेन; रामॊ यथा शस्त्रविद अस्त्रविच च और्व तरिताभ्याम असि तुल्यतेजा; दुष्प्रेक्षणीयॊ ऽसि भगीरथॊ वा ।। १-५०-१६ ।।

sanskrit

'Thou art the protector of sacrifices, possessing the strength of Damvodbhava. Like Rama, thou art knowledgeable in scriptures and skilled in arms. In energy, thou art comparable to Aurva and Trita. Thy formidable appearance inspires terror, akin to Bhagiratha.' ।। 1-50-16 ।।

dambhòdbhavenAsi samò balena; rAmò yathA zastravida astravica ca aurva taritAbhyAma asi tulyatejA; duSprekSaNIyò 'si bhagIrathò vA || 1-50-16 ||

'Sauti said, 'Astika, having thus adored all, including the king, the Sadasyas, the Ritwiks, and the sacrificial fire, gratified them. King Janamejaya, observing the signs and indications manifested all around, then addressed them as follows.' ।। 1-50-17 ।।

english translation

[sa] evaM satutAH sarva eva parasannA; rAjA sadasyA Rtvijò havyavAhaH teSAM dRSTvA bhAvitAnIGgitAni; paròvAca rAjA janamejayò 'tha || 1-50-17 ||
