[व] ततॊ धात्री तत्र गत्वा शर्मिष्ठां वाक्यम अब्रवीत उत्तिष्ठ भद्रे शर्मिष्ठे जञातीनां सुखम आवह ॥ १-७५-१६ ॥
'Vaisampayana continued, 'The maid-servant then went to Sarmishtha and said, 'O kind-hearted Sarmishtha, please rise and come with me.' ॥ 1-75-16 ॥
english translation
तयजति बराह्मणः शिष्यान देव यान्या परचॊदितः सा यं कामयते कामं स कार्यॊ ऽदय तवयानघे ॥ १-७५-१७ ॥
'Ensure the welfare of your kin. Prompted by Devayani, the Brahmin (Sukra) is poised to forsake his disciples (the Asuras). O faultless one, it is imperative that you fulfill Devayani's desires.' ॥ 1-75-17 ॥
english translation
[षर] सा यं कामयते कामं करवाण्य अहम अद्य तम मा तव एवापगमच छुक्रॊ देव यानी च मत्कृते ॥ १-७५-१८ ॥
'Sarmishtha responded, "I will gladly fulfill Devayani's wishes. At Devayani's behest, Sukra summons me. It is imperative that neither Sukra nor Devayani abandon the Asuras because of me."' ॥ 1-75-18 ॥

[व] ततः कन्या सहस्रेण वृता शिबिकया तदा पितुर नियॊगात तवरिता निश्चक्राम पुरॊत्तमात ॥ १-७५-१९ ॥
'Vaisampayana continued, 'Commanded by her father, then, Sarmishtha, accompanied by a thousand maidens, soon came, in a palanquin, out of her father's excellent mansion.' ॥ 1-75-19 ॥

[षर] अहं कन्या सहस्रेण दासी ते परिचारिका अनु तवां तत्र यास्यामि यत्र दास्यति ते पिता ॥ १-७५-२० ॥
'Approaching Devayani, she said, "I am your handmaiden, accompanied by a thousand maids. I will follow you wherever your father decides to send you."' ॥ 1-75-20 ॥
