भार्यावन्तः करियावन्तः सभार्या गृहमेधिनः भार्यावन्तः परमॊदन्ते भार्यावन्तः शरियान्विताः ॥ १-६८-४१ ॥

'They that have wives can lead domestic lives. They have wives who have the means to be cheerful. They that have wives can achieve good fortune.' ॥ 1-68-41 ॥

bhAryAvantaH kariyAvantaH sabhAryA gRhamedhinaH bhAryAvantaH paramòdante bhAryAvantaH zariyAnvitAH ॥ 1-68-41 ॥

सखायः परविविक्तेषु भवन्त्य एताः परियंवदाः पितरॊ धर्मकार्येषु भवन्त्य आर्तस्य मातरः ॥ १-६८-४२ ॥

'Wives, with their sweet speech, serve as friends in joyous moments, as guiding fathers during religious rites, and as caring mothers through illness and adversity.' ॥ 1-68-42 ॥

कान्तारेष्व अपि विश्रामॊ नरस्याध्वनिकस्य वै यः सदारः स विश्वास्यस तस्माद दाराः परा गतिः ॥ १-६८-४३ ॥

'Even in the secluded wilderness, a wife serves as a traveler's source of refreshment and solace. One who possesses a wife is trusted by all, making a wife the most valuable asset.' ॥ 1-68-43 ॥

kAntAreSva api vizrAmò narasyAdhvanikasya vai yaH sadAraH sa vizvAsyasa tasmAda dArAH parA gatiH ॥ 1-68-43 ॥

संसरन्तम अपि परेतं विषमेष्व एकपातिनम भार्यैवान्वेति भर्तारं सततं या पतिव्रता ॥ १-६८-४४ ॥

'Even as the husband departs from this world to the realm of Yama, it is the faithful and devoted wife who accompanies him on his journey to the beyond.' ॥ 1-68-44 ॥

परथमं संस्थिता भार्या पतिं परेत्य परतीक्षते पूर्वं मृतं च भर्तारं पश्चात साध्व्य अनुगच्छति ॥ १-६८-४५ ॥

'The wife, standing foremost, awaits her husband in the afterlife; the virtuous woman follows her husband who has passed before her, demonstrating her loyalty and devotion even beyond death.' ॥ 1-68-45 ॥
