परथमं संस्थिता भार्या पतिं परेत्य परतीक्षते पूर्वं मृतं च भर्तारं पश्चात साध्व्य अनुगच्छति ।। १-६८-४५ ।।

sanskrit

'The wife, standing foremost, awaits her husband in the afterlife; the virtuous woman follows her husband who has passed before her, demonstrating her loyalty and devotion even beyond death.' ।। 1-68-45 ।।

english translation

parathamaM saMsthitA bhAryA patiM paretya paratIkSate pUrvaM mRtaM ca bhartAraM pazcAta sAdhvya anugacchati || 1-68-45 ||
