संसरन्तम अपि परेतं विषमेष्व एकपातिनम भार्यैवान्वेति भर्तारं सततं या पतिव्रता ॥ १-६८-४४ ॥

'Even as the husband departs from this world to the realm of Yama, it is the faithful and devoted wife who accompanies him on his journey to the beyond.' ॥ 1-68-44 ॥

saMsarantama api paretaM viSameSva ekapAtinama bhAryaivAnveti bhartAraM satataM yA pativratA ॥ 1-68-44 ॥
