सचक्रवाकपुलिनां पुष्पफेन परवाहिनीम सकिंनरगणावासां वानरर्क्ष निषेविताम ।। १-६४-२१ ।।

sanskrit

'And on its bank sported the Chakravaka, and waves of milkwhite foam. And there stood also the habitations of Kinnaras. And monkeys and bears too disported themselves in numbers. And there lived also holy ascetics engaged in studies and meditation.' ।। 1-64-21 ।।

english translation

sacakravAkapulinAM puSpaphena paravAhinIma sakiMnaragaNAvAsAM vAnararkSa niSevitAma || 1-64-21 ||

hk transliteration

पुण्यस्वाख्याय संघुष्टां पुलिनैर उपशॊभिताम मत्तवारणशार्दूल भुजगेन्द्रनिषेविताम ।। १-६४-२२ ।।

sanskrit

'Surrounded by virtuous trees and adorned with sandy banks, it presented a pristine and picturesque view, frequented by elephants, tigers, and serpents, and resonating with their harmonious coexistence.' ।। 1-64-22 ।।

english translation

puNyasvAkhyAya saMghuSTAM pulinaira upazòbhitAma mattavAraNazArdUla bhujagendraniSevitAma || 1-64-22 ||

hk transliteration

नदीम आश्रमसंबद्धां दृष्ट्वाश्रमपदं तथा चकाराभिप्रवेशाय मतिं स नृपतिस तदा ।। १-६४-२३ ।।

sanskrit

'And it was on the banks of that stream that the excellent asylum of the illustrious Kasyapa stood, offering a home to numerous Rishis of great ascetic merit.' ।। 1-64-23 ।।

english translation

nadIma AzramasaMbaddhAM dRSTvAzramapadaM tathA cakArAbhipravezAya matiM sa nRpatisa tadA || 1-64-23 ||

hk transliteration

अलंकृतं दवीपवत्या मालिन्या रम्यतीरया नरनारायण सथानं गङ्गयेवॊपशॊभितम मत्तबर्हिण संघुष्टं परविवेश महद वनम ।। १-६४-२४ ।।

sanskrit

'And beholding that river, and also the asylum washed by that river which was studded with many islands and which possessed banks of so much beauty,--an asylum like unto that of Nara and Narayana laved by the water of the Ganga--the king resolved to enter into that sacred abode.' ।। 1-64-24 ।।

english translation

alaMkRtaM davIpavatyA mAlinyA ramyatIrayA naranArAyaNa sathAnaM gaGgayevòpazòbhitama mattabarhiNa saMghuSTaM paraviveza mahada vanama || 1-64-24 ||

hk transliteration

तत स चैत्ररथप्रख्यं समुपेत्य नरेश्वरः अतीव गुणसंपन्नम अनिर्देश्यं च वर्चसा महर्षिं काश्यपं दरष्टुम अथ कण्वं तपॊधनम ।। १-६४-२५ ।।

sanskrit

'And that bull among men, desirous of beholding the great Rishi of ascetic wealth, the illustrious Kanwa of the race of Kasyapa, one who possessed every virtue and who, for his splendour, could be gazed at with difficulty, approached that forest resounding with the notes of maddened peacocks and like unto the gardens of the great Gandharva, Chitraratha, himself.' ।। 1-64-25 ।।

tata sa caitrarathaprakhyaM samupetya narezvaraH atIva guNasaMpannama anirdezyaM ca varcasA maharSiM kAzyapaM daraSTuma atha kaNvaM tapòdhanama || 1-64-25 ||
