स तान निषादान उपसंहरंस तदा; रजः समुद्धूय नभःस्पृशं महत समुद्रकुक्षौ च विशॊषयन पयः; समीपगान भूमिधरान विचालयन ।। १-१४-११ ।।

sanskrit

'And bent upon slaying the Nishadas, he raised a great quantity of dust that overspread the firmament, and sucking up water from amid the ocean, shook the trees growing on the adjacent mountains.' ।। 1-24-11 ।।

english translation

sa tAna niSAdAna upasaMharaMsa tadA; rajaH samuddhUya nabhaHspRzaM mahata samudrakukSau ca vizòSayana payaH; samIpagAna bhUmidharAna vicAlayana || 1-14-11 ||

ततः सचक्रे महद आननं तदा; निषादमार्गं परतिरुध्य पक्षिराट ततॊ निषादास तवरिताः परवव्रजुर; यतॊ मुखं तस्य भुजंगभॊजितः ।। १-१४-१२ ।।

sanskrit

'And then that lord of birds obstructed the principal thoroughfares of the town of the Nishadas by his mouth, increasing its orifice at will. And the Nishadas began to fly in great haste in the direction of the open mouth of the great serpent-eater.' ।। 1-24-12 ।।

tataH sacakre mahada AnanaM tadA; niSAdamArgaM paratirudhya pakSirATa tatò niSAdAsa tavaritAH paravavrajura; yatò mukhaM tasya bhujaMgabhòjitaH || 1-14-12 ||

'Blinded by the storm's raised dust, the Nishadas sought refuge in the expansive cleft of Garuda's open mouth. Swift and hungry, the mighty lord of the skies, the vanquisher of enemies endowed with immense strength, closed his mouth, bringing an end to numerous Nishadas who followed the occupation of fishermen.' ।। 1-24-14 ।।

tataH khagò vadanama amitratApanaH; samAharata paricapalò mahAbalaH niSUdayana bahuvidha matsyabhakSiNò; bubhukSitò gaganacarezvarasa tadA || 1-14-14 ||
