[वि] यस ते कण्ठम अनुप्राप्तॊ निगीर्णं बडिशं यथा दहेद अङ्गारवत पुत्र तं विद्याद बाह्मणर्षभम ॥ १-१४-६ ॥
'Vinata replied, saying, "O child, recognize as the foremost among Brahmanas the one who, if swallowed, would afflict you like a fish-hook or scorch you like blazing charcoal. Even in anger, you must never slay a Brahmana." Expressing her maternal concern, Vinata reiterated, "Identify as a virtuous Brahmana the one who would remain undigested in your stomach."' ॥ 1-24-6 ॥

सू] परॊवाच चैनं विनता पुत्रहार्दाद इदं वचः जानन्त्य अप्य अतुलं वीर्यम आशीर्वादसमन्वितम ॥ १-१४-७ ॥
'Although she knew the incomparable strength of her son, yet she blessed him heartily.' ॥ 1-24-7 ॥

पक्षौ ते मारुतः पातु चन्द्रः पृष्ठं तु पुत्रक शिरस तु पातु ते वह्निर भास्करः सर्वम एव तु ॥ १-१४-८ ॥
'She said, "May Marut safeguard your wings, and may Surya and Soma watch over your back. Let Agni protect your head, and the Vasus ensure the well-being of your entire body "' ॥ 1-24-8 ॥
english translation
अहं च ते सदा पुत्र शान्ति सवस्ति परायणा अरिष्टं वरज पन्थानं वत्स कार्यार्थसिद्धये ॥ १-१४-९ ॥
'I your ever-supportive mother, am always devoted to your peace and well-being. May your path be free from obstacles, O son, and may you accomplish your purpose.' ॥ 1-24-9 ॥

ततः स मातुर वचनं निशम्य; वितत्य पक्षौ नभ उत्पपात ततॊ निषादान बलवान उपागमद; बुभुक्षितः काल इवान्तकॊ महान ॥ १-१४-१० ॥
'Sauti continued, 'Then Garuda, having heard the words of his mother, stretched his wings and ascended the skies. And endued with great strength, he soon fell upon the Nishadas, hungry and like another Yama.' ॥ 1-24-10 ॥
