तं संकल्पं विदित्वास्य जञात्वा पुत्रांश च बालकान सॊ ऽभितुष्टाव विप्रर्षेर बराह्मणॊ जातवेदसम पुत्रान परिददद भीतॊ लॊकपालं महौजसम ॥ १-२२०-२१ ॥
'Understanding Agni's purpose and mindful that his children were still young and vulnerable, Brahmana Mandapala, filled with fear, appeased the fiery deity, the regent of the universe, endowed with immense power.' ॥ 1-220-21 ॥
english translation
[मन्दपाल] तवम अग्ने सर्वदेवानां मुखं तवम असि हव्यवाट तवम अन्तः सर्वभूतानां गूढश चरसि पावक ॥ १-२२०-२२ ॥
'Addressing Agni, the Rishi said, "O Agni, you are the mouth of all the worlds! You are the carrier of sacrificial offerings! O purifier of all sins, you move invisibly within the body of every creature!"' ॥ 1-220-22 ॥
english translation
तवम एकम आहुः कवयस तवाम आहुस तरिविधं पुनः तवाम अष्टधा कल्पयित्वा यज्ञवाहम अकल्पयन ॥ १-२२०-२३ ॥
'The learned have described you as One, and again as possessing a triple nature. The wise conduct their sacrifices before you, envisioning you as having eight forms. The great Rishis proclaim that you have created this universe.' ॥ 1-220-23 ॥
english translation
तवया सृष्टम इदं विश्वं वदन्ति परमर्षयः तवदृते हि जगत कृत्स्नं सद्यॊ न सयाद धुताशन ॥ १-२२०-२४ ॥
'The great sages proclaim that this universe has been created by you. Indeed, without you, O Agni, the entire cosmos would cease to exist instantly.' ॥ 1-220-24 ॥

तुभ्यं कृत्वा नमॊ विप्राः सवकर्म विजितां गतिम गच्छन्ति सह पत्नीभिः सुतैर अपि च शाश्वतीम ॥ १-२२०-२५ ॥
'Bowing to you, O Agni, the Brahmanas, accompanied by their wives and children, journey to eternal realms earned through their deeds.' ॥ 1-220-25 ॥
