तवाम अग्ने जलदान आहुः खे विषक्तान सविद्युतः दहन्ति सर्वभूतानि तवत्तॊ निष्क्रम्य हायनाः ॥ १-२२०-२६ ॥
'O Agni, the wise liken you to the clouds in the heavens charged with lightning. Your flames consume all living beings.' ॥ 1-220-26 ॥
english translation
tavAma agne jaladAna AhuH khe viSaktAna savidyutaH dahanti sarvabhUtAni tavattò niSkramya hAyanAH ॥ 1-220-26 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptजातवेदस तवैवेयं विश्वसृष्टिर महाद्युते तवैव कर्म विहितं भूतं सर्वं चराचरम ॥ १-२२०-२७ ॥
'O illustrious one of great splendor, you have created this universe. The Vedas are your utterances. All living beings, both mobile and immobile, depend upon you.' ॥ 1-220-27 ॥

jAtavedasa tavaiveyaM vizvasRSTira mahAdyute tavaiva karma vihitaM bhUtaM sarvaM carAcarama ॥ 1-220-27 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतवयापॊ विहिताः पूर्वं तवयि सर्वम इदं जगत तवयि हव्यं च कव्यं च यथावत संप्रतिष्ठितम ॥ १-२२०-२८ ॥
'Water primarily depends on you, as does the entire universe. All offerings of clarified butter and oblations of food to the ancestors are established in you.' ॥ 1-220-28 ॥

tavayApò vihitAH pUrvaM tavayi sarvama idaM jagata tavayi havyaM ca kavyaM ca yathAvata saMpratiSThitama ॥ 1-220-28 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअग्ने तवम एव जवलनस तवं धाता तवं बृहस्पतिः तवम अश्विनौ यमौ मित्रः सॊमस तवम असि चानिलः ॥ १-२२०-२९ ॥
'O god, you are the consumer, the creator, and the very embodiment of intelligence like Brihaspati. You are the twin Aswins, Surya, Soma, and Vayu.' ॥ 1-220-29 ॥

agne tavama eva javalanasa tavaM dhAtA tavaM bRhaspatiH tavama azvinau yamau mitraH sòmasa tavama asi cAnilaH ॥ 1-220-29 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscript[वै] एवं सतुतस ततस तेन मन्दपालेन पावकः तुतॊष तस्य नृपते मुनेर अमिततेजसः उवाच चैनं परीतात्मा किम इष्टं करवाणि ते ॥ १-२२०-३० ॥
'Vaisampayana continued, "O monarch, praised thus by Mandapala, Agni, the deity of immeasurable energy, was pleased. The god, well-pleased, then responded, 'What good can I do for you?"' ॥ 1-220-30 ॥
