[देवाह] ऋणिनॊ मानवा बरह्मञ जायन्ते येन तच छृणु करियाभिर बरह्मचर्येण परजया च न संशयः ।। १-२२०-११ ।।

sanskrit

'The celestials answered, "Hear, O Brahmana, about the acts and reasons that cause men to be born as debtors. Without a doubt, men are born debtors for the sake of religious rites, studies according to the ordinance, and progeny. These debts are discharged through sacrifices, asceticism, and offspring."' ।। 1-220-11 ।।

'All debts are absolved through sacrifices, penance, and offspring. You are an ascetic and have performed sacrifices, but you have no progeny.' ।। 1-220-12 ।।

'While you are an ascetic and have sacrificed, you have no offspring. These regions are closed to you solely due to the lack of children. Therefore, beget children!' ।। 1-220-13 ।।
