स मार्गम आस्थितॊ राजन्न ऋषीणाम ऊर्ध्वरेतसाम सवाध्यायवान धर्मरतस तपस्वी विजितेन्द्रियः ।। १-२२०-६ ।।

sanskrit

'Following the footsteps of ascetics who had mastered their seminal fluid, O monarch, that sage devoted himself to study and virtue, with every sense completely under control.' ।। 1-220-6 ।।

sa mArgama Asthitò rAjanna RSINAma UrdhvaretasAma savAdhyAyavAna dharmaratasa tapasvI vijitendriyaH || 1-220-6 ||

'Having crossed the bounds of asceticism, O Bharata, he departed from his mortal form and ascended to the realm of the ancestors. However, upon reaching there, he did not obtain the expected fruit of his deeds.' ।। 1-220-7 ।।

'He questioned the celestial beings seated around the king of the dead, asking, "Why have these realms become inaccessible to me despite my ascetic endeavors?"' ।। 1-220-8 ।।
