विज्ञातुम इच्छत्य अवनीश्वरॊ वः; पाञ्चालराजॊ दरुपदॊ वरार्हाः लक्ष्यस्य वेद्धारम इमं हि दृष्ट्वा; हर्षस्य नान्तं परिपश्यते सः ॥ १-१८५-१६ ॥
'Ye who are worthy of preference in everything, the generous king of the earth, Drupada, wishes to know who you are. Beholding the one who shot down the mark, his joy knows no bounds.' ॥ 1-185-16 ॥

तद आचड्ढ्वं जञातिकुलानुपूर्वीं; पदं शिरःसु दविषतां कुरुध्वम परह्लादयध्वं हृदये ममेदं; पाञ्चालराजस्य सहानुगस्य ॥ १-१८५-१७ ॥
'Reveal to us the details of your family and tribe. Place your feet upon the heads of your foes and bring joy to the hearts of King Drupada, his followers, and myself.' ॥ 1-185-17 ॥

पाण्डुर हि राजा दरुपदस्य राज्ञः; परियः सखा चात्मसमॊ बभूव तस्यैष कामॊ दुहिता ममेयं; सनुषा यदि सयाद इति कौरवस्य ॥ १-१८५-१८ ॥
'King Pandu was not only the dear friend of Drupada but also regarded by him as his counterpart. Drupada had always cherished the desire of bestowing his daughter upon Pandu as his daughter-in-law.' ॥ 1-185-18 ॥

अयं च कामॊ दरुपदस्य राज्ञॊ; हृदि सथितॊ नित्यम अनिन्दिताङ्गाः यद अर्जुनॊ वै पृथु दीर्घबाहुर; धर्मेण विन्देत सुतां ममेति ॥ १-१८५-१९ ॥
'Ye heroes with faultless features, King Drupada has always held in his heart the desire that Arjuna, with his strong and long arms, would marry his daughter according to the customs. If this has now become possible, nothing could be more auspicious, beneficial, or conducive to fame and virtue as far as Drupada is concerned.' ॥ 1-185-19 ॥

तथॊक्त वाक्यं तु पुरॊहितं तं; सथितं विनीतं समुदीक्ष्य राजा समीपस्थं भीमम इदं शशास; परदीयतां पाद्यम अर्घ्यं तथास्मै ॥ १-१८५-२० ॥
'Having said this, the priest fell silent and humbly awaited a response. Observing him seated in this manner, King Yudhishthira instructed Bhima, who was nearby, saying, 'Offer water for washing his feet and the Arghya to this Brahmana.'' ॥ 1-185-20 ॥
