कच चित तातापविघ्नं ते कच चिन नन्दसि पुत्रक अजानताम अदॊषाणां सर्वेषां रक्षसां वधात ॥ १-१७२-११ ॥
'There is no hindrance, I hope, to this sacrifice of yours, O child! Do you take any delight, O child, in the slaughter of all those innocent Rakshasas who are unaware of your father's demise?' ॥ 1-172-11 ॥
english translation
परजॊच्छेदम इमं मह्यं सर्वं सॊमप सत्तम अधर्मिष्ठं वरिष्ठः सन कुरुषे तवं पराशर राजा कल्माषपादश च दिवम आरॊढुम इच्छति ॥ १-१७२-१२ ॥
'It is not appropriate for you to destroy creatures in this manner, O child. Such actions do not befit a Brahmana dedicated to asceticism. Peace is the highest virtue. Therefore, O Parasara, establish peace instead. How could you, O Parasara, being so noble, engage in such a sinful practice? It is not fitting for you to go against Saktri himself, who was well-versed in all principles of morality. Nor should you exterminate any creatures. O descendant of Vasishtha's lineage, what happened to your father was due to his own curse. Saktri was taken to heaven because of his own actions. No Rakshasa was capable of causing Saktri's demise; he himself ordained it. And, O Parasara, Viswamitra was merely an instrument in that incident. Both Saktri and Kalmashapada, having ascended to heaven, are now enjoying great happiness.' ॥ 1-172-12 ॥

ये च शक्त्यवराः पुत्रा वसिष्ठस्य महामुनेः ते च सर्वे मुदा युक्ता मॊदन्ते सहिताः सुरैः सर्वम एतद वसिष्ठस्य विदितं वै महामुने ॥ १-१७२-१३ ॥
'The powerful and excellent sons of the great sage Vasishtha, they all rejoice in heaven with delight, accompanied by the gods. Indeed, all this is known to the great sage Vasishtha.' ॥ 1-172-13 ॥

रक्षसां च समुच्छेद एष तात तपस्विनाम निमित्तभूतस तवं चात्र करतौ वासिष्ठनन्दन स सत्रं मुञ्च भद्रं ते समाप्तम इदम अस्तु ते ॥ १-१७२-१४ ॥
'And, O child, descendant of Vasishtha's lineage, you have been merely an instrument in the destruction of these innocent Rakshasas in this sacrifice. O blessed one! Cease this sacrifice of yours. Let it come to an end.' ॥ 1-172-14 ॥

एवम उक्तः पुलस्त्येन वसिष्ठेन च धीमता तदा समापयाम आस सत्रं शाक्तिः पराशरः ॥ १-१७२-१५ ॥
'The Gandharva continued, 'Thus addressed by Pulastya and the wise Vasishtha, that mighty Muni, the son of Shakti, brought that sacrifice to an end.' ॥ 1-172-15 ॥
