रक्षसां च समुच्छेद एष तात तपस्विनाम निमित्तभूतस तवं चात्र करतौ वासिष्ठनन्दन स सत्रं मुञ्च भद्रं ते समाप्तम इदम अस्तु ते ॥ १-१७२-१४ ॥

sanskrit

'And, O child, descendant of Vasishtha's lineage, you have been merely an instrument in the destruction of these innocent Rakshasas in this sacrifice. O blessed one! Cease this sacrifice of yours. Let it come to an end.' ॥ 1-172-14 ॥

english translation

rakSasAM ca samuccheda eSa tAta tapasvinAma nimittabhUtasa tavaM cAtra karatau vAsiSThanandana sa satraM muJca bhadraM te samAptama idama astu te ॥ 1-172-14 ॥
