तेन यज्ञेन शुभ्रेण हूयमानेन युक्तितः तद विदीपितम आकाशं सूर्येणेव घनात्यये ।। १-१७२-६ ।।

'And the son of Saktri, akin to the Sun emerging from behind clouds, illuminated the entire firmament with his immaculate sacrifice, where plentiful offerings of clarified butter were poured' ।। 1-172-6 ।।

english translation

tena yajJena zubhreNa hUyamAnena yuktitaH tada vidIpitama AkAzaM sUryeNeva ghanAtyaye || 1-172-6 ||

तं वसिष्ठादयः सर्वे मुनयस तत्र मेनिरे तेजसा दिवि दीप्यन्तं दवितीयम इव भास्करम ।। १-१७२-७ ।।

'Then Vasishtha and the other sages beheld that Muni, radiant with his own energy, as if he were a second sun.' ।। 1-172-7 ।।

english translation

taM vasiSThAdayaH sarve munayasa tatra menire tejasA divi dIpyantaM davitIyama iva bhAskarama || 1-172-7 ||

ततः परमदुष्प्रापम अन्यैर ऋषिर उदारधीः समापिपयिषुः सत्रं तम अत्रिः समुपागमत ।। १-१७२-८ ।।

'Then the great sage Atri, known for his generous spirit and eager to bring the sacrifice to an end, arrived at that place, a feat that was exceedingly challenging for others.' ।। 1-172-8 ।।

tataH paramaduSprApama anyaira RSira udAradhIH samApipayiSuH satraM tama atriH samupAgamata || 1-172-8 ||

तथा पुलस्त्यः पुलहः करतुश चैव महाक्रतुम उपाजग्मुर अमित्रघ्न रक्षसां जीवितेप्सया ।। १-१७२-९ ।।

'Thus Pulastya, Pulaha, and Kratu as well approached Amitragha (destroyer of enemies), with the desire to live, for performing the great ritual sacrifice against the Rakshasas.' ।। 1-172-9 ।।

tathA pulastyaH pulahaH karatuza caiva mahAkratuma upAjagmura amitraghna rakSasAM jIvitepsayA || 1-172-9 ||

पुलस्त्यस तु वधात तेषां रक्षसां भरतर्षभ उवाचेदं वचः पार्थ पराशरम अरिंदमम ।। १-१७२-१० ।।

'And, O noble scion of the Bharata lineage, Pulastya, observing that many Rakshasas had already been slain, spoke these words to Parasara, the vanquisher of all foes:' ।। 1-172-10 ।।
