पूर्वार्ध कायसंपन्नम इतरेणाप्रकाशता सपुत्रॊ रॊषसंपन्नः शशापैनाम इति शरुतिः ॥ १-१४-१६ ॥
'In her human form, she appeared radiant, and in the other half, she gleamed without external light, bearing a son and harboring intense anger. It was then that she pronounced a curse upon Kadru, as narrated in the scripture.'॥ 1-14-16 ॥
english translation
यॊ ऽहम एवं कृतॊ मातस तवया लॊभपरीतया शरीरेणासमग्रॊ ऽदय तस्माद दासी भविष्यसि ॥ १-१४-१७ ॥
'In this way, due to your greed-driven conduct, I have lost this entire body. Therefore, you will become my servant.'॥ 1-14-17 ॥
english translation
पञ्चवर्षशतान्य अस्या यया विस्पर्धसे सह एष च तवां सुतॊ मातर दास्यत्वान मॊक्षयिष्यति ॥ १-१४-१८ ॥
'If you patiently wait for five hundred years without destroying or disturbing the other egg, the illustrious child within it will eventually free you from slavery.'॥ 1-14-18 ॥
english translation
यद्य एनम अपि मातस तवं माम इवाण्ड विभेदनात न करिष्यस्य अदेहं वा वयङ्गं वापि तपस्विनम ॥ १-१४-१९ ॥
'If you, like a mother, do not wish to harm this egg, similar to how I, the ascetic, do not harm others physically or verbally, you shall not cause any harm to my body or ageless form either.'॥ 1-14-19 ॥
english translation
परतिपालयितव्यस ते जन्म कालॊ ऽसय धीरया विशिष्ट बलम ईप्सन्त्या पञ्चवर्षशतात परः ॥ १-१४-२० ॥
'Your birth must be protected by you with wisdom. After waiting for five hundred years with a desire for exceptional strength, you may then break the egg.'॥ 1-14-20 ॥
