[दुर] मध्यस्थः सततं भीष्मॊ दरॊणपुत्रॊ मयि सथितः यतः पुत्रस ततॊ दरॊणॊ भविता नात्र सांशयः ॥ १-१३०-१६ ॥
'Duryodhana answered, "Bhishma holds no excessive affection for either side and will, therefore, remain neutral in any dispute. Aswatthaman, the son of Drona, is on my side. There is no doubt that where the son stands, the father will also be."' ॥ 1-130-16 ॥
english translation
कृपः शारद्वतश चैव यत एते तरयस ततः दरॊणं च भागिनेयं च न स तयक्ष्यति कर्हि चित ॥ १-१३०-१७ ॥
'Kripa, the son of Saradwat, will align with Drona and Aswatthaman. He will never abandon Drona and his nephew Aswatthaman.' ॥ 1-130-17 ॥

कषत्तार्थ बद्धस तव अस्माकं परच्छन्नं तु यतः परे न चैकः स समर्थॊ ऽसमान पाण्डवार्थे परबाधितुम ॥ १-१३०-१८ ॥
'Bound by duty to us, our ally remains hidden from the others. And indeed, not one among them is capable of thwarting our cause for the sake of the Pandavas.' ॥ 1-130-18 ॥

स विश्रब्धः पाण्डुपुत्रान सह मात्रा विवासय वारणावतम अद्यैव नात्र दॊषॊ भविष्यति ॥ १-१३०-१९ ॥
'He, with confidence, can banish the sons of Pandu along with their mother to Varanavata immediately; there will be no fault in this.' ॥ 1-130-19 ॥
english translation
विनिद्र करणं घॊरं हृदि शल्यम इवार्पितम शॊकपावकम उद्भूतं कर्मणैतेन नाशय ॥ १-१३०-२० ॥
'Ensure that they depart for there today itself. By doing so, O father, extinguish the grief that burns within me like a blazing fire, steals my sleep, and pierces my heart like a dreadful dart.' ॥ 1-130-20 ॥
