दैवे पुरुषकारे च लॊकॊ ऽयं हि परतिष्ठितः तत्र दैवं तु विधिना कालयुक्तेन लभ्यते ।। १-११४-१६ ।।

'In both divine providence and human effort, this world is indeed established. In this regard, divine grace is obtained through destiny and time.' ।। 1-114-16 ।।

english translation

daive puruSakAre ca lòkò 'yaM hi paratiSThitaH tatra daivaM tu vidhinA kAlayuktena labhyate || 1-114-16 ||

'I shall please him through my asceticism and obtain from him a son of immense strength. Indeed, the son bestowed upon me by him must surpass all others and possess the ability to conquer in battle both men and beings beyond men. Thus, I shall engage in the most rigorous austerities, through actions, thoughts, and words.' ।। 1-114-18 ।।

taM tòSayitvA tapasA putraM lapsye mahAbalama yaM dAsyati sa me putraM sa varIyAna bhaviSyati karmaNA manasA vAcA tasmAta tapsye mahata tapaH || 1-114-18 ||
