आरिराधयिषुर देवं तरिदशानां तम ईश्वरम सूर्येण सहधर्मात्मा पर्यवर्तत भारत ॥ १-११४-२१ ॥
'The one with righteous duty, along with the sun, revered the divine lord of the celestial beings, traversing alongside him, O Bharata.' ॥ 1-114-21 ॥
english translation
ArirAdhayiSura devaM taridazAnAM tama Izvarama sUryeNa sahadharmAtmA paryavartata bhArata ॥ 1-114-21 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतं तु कालेन महता वासवः परत्यभाषत पुत्रं तव परदास्यामि तरिषु लॊकेषु विश्रुतम ॥ १-११४-२२ ॥
'After a considerable time, Indra, pleased with such devotion, approached Pandu and spoke to him, 'O king, I shall grant you a son who will be renowned throughout the three worlds.' ॥ 1-114-22 ॥
english translation
taM tu kAlena mahatA vAsavaH paratyabhASata putraM tava paradAsyAmi tariSu lòkeSu vizrutama ॥ 1-114-22 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptदेवानां बराह्मणानां च सुहृदां चार्थसाधकम सुतं ते ऽगर्यं परदास्यामि सर्वामित्र विनाशनम ॥ १-११४-२३ ॥
'I shall bestow upon you a son who will fulfill the purposes of the gods, Brahmins, and friends, and who will be an unerring destroyer of all enemies.' ॥ 1-114-23 ॥

devAnAM barAhmaNAnAM ca suhRdAM cArthasAdhakama sutaM te 'garyaM paradAsyAmi sarvAmitra vinAzanama ॥ 1-114-23 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptइत्य उक्तः कौरवॊ राजा वासवेन महात्मना उवाच कुन्तीं धर्मात्मा देवराजवचः समरन ॥ १-११४-२४ ॥
'Thus addressed by the great soul Indra, the Kuru king reflected on the words of the divine lord and spoke to Kunti, who was virtuous and righteous.' ॥ 1-114-24 ॥

itya uktaH kauravò rAjA vAsavena mahAtmanA uvAca kuntIM dharmAtmA devarAjavacaH samarana ॥ 1-114-24 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptनीतिमन्तं महात्मानम आदित्यसमतेजसम दुराधर्षं करियावन्तम अतीवाद्भुत दर्शनम ॥ १-११४-२५ ॥
'He will be the subduer of all adversaries, possessing profound wisdom. With a magnanimous soul, radiance akin to the Sun, invincible in combat, and adorned with remarkable deeds, he will also be exceedingly handsome.' ॥ 1-114-25 ॥
