पुत्रं जनय सुश्रॊणि धाम कषत्रिय तेजसाम लब्धः परसादॊ देवेन्द्रात तम आह्वय शुचिस्मिते ॥ १-११४-२६ ॥
'O illustrious one, give birth to a son who will be the abode of the brilliance of the warrior caste. Acquired by the grace of the lord of gods, Indra, summon him with a pure and joyous heart.' ॥ 1-114-26 ॥
english translation
एवम उक्ता ततः शक्रम आजुहाव यशस्विनी अथाजगाम देवेन्द्रॊ जनयाम आस चार्जुनम ॥ १-११४-२७ ॥
'Vaisampayana continued, 'Responding to her husband's words, the renowned Kunti invoked Indra, the king of the gods. He then approached her and fathered the one who would later be known as Arjuna.' ॥ 1-114-27 ॥
english translation
जातमात्रे कुमारे तु वाग उवाचाशरीरिणी महागम्भीर निर्घॊषा नभॊ नादयती तदा ॥ १-११४-२८ ॥
'As soon as the child was born, the celestial voice spoke, resounding deeply, causing the heavens to reverberate with its mighty sound.' ॥ 1-114-28 ॥

कार्तवीर्य समः कुन्ति शिबितुल्यपराक्रमः एष शक्र इवाजेयॊ यशस ते परथयिष्यति ॥ १-११४-२९ ॥
'Kunti's son is as valorous as Kartavirya, comparable in prowess to Shibi. He shall be invincible like Indra himself and shall bring you great renown.' ॥ 1-114-29 ॥

अदित्या विष्णुना परीतिर यथाभूद अभिवर्धिता तथा विष्णुसमः परीतिं वर्धयिष्यति ते ऽरजुनः ॥ १-११४-३० ॥
'Just as Aditi was surrounded and enhanced by Vishnu, similarly, Arjuna, who is akin to Vishnu, shall enhance and surround your prosperity.' ॥ 1-114-30 ॥
