आत्मना च महाबाहुर एकपादस्थितॊ ऽभवत उग्रं स तप आतस्थे परमेण समाधिना ॥ १-११४-२० ॥
'Meanwhile, he himself, O Bharata, began to stand on one leg from morning till evening and undertook other rigorous penances, with his mind absorbed in meditation, to please the lord of the celestials.' ॥ 1-114-20 ॥
