जङ्गमाजङ्गमं सर्वम अविहिंसंश चतुर्विधम सवासु परजास्व इव सदा समः पराणभृतां परति ॥ १-११०-११ ॥
'I shall refrain from harming any of the four categories of living beings, possessing mobility or otherwise, including those born from eggs, those born from the womb, worms, and plants.' ॥ 1-110-11 ॥
english translation
jaGgamAjaGgamaM sarvama avihiMsaMza caturvidhama savAsu parajAsva iva sadA samaH parANabhRtAM parati ॥ 1-110-11 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptएककालं चरन भैक्षं कुलानि दवे च पञ्च च असंभवे वा भैक्षस्य चरन्न अनशनान्य अपि ॥ १-११०-१२ ॥
'On the contrary, I will maintain equal treatment towards everyone, as if they were my own children. I will beg from five or ten families at most once a day, and if I am unable to obtain alms. I shall then go without food. ' ॥ 1-110-12 ॥
english translation
ekakAlaM carana bhaikSaM kulAni dave ca paJca ca asaMbhave vA bhaikSasya caranna anazanAnya api ॥ 1-110-12 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअल्पम अल्पं यथा भॊज्यं पूर्वलाभेन जातुचित नित्यं नातिचरँल लाभे अलाभे सप्त पूरयन ॥ १-११०-१३ ॥
'I would rather limit my needs than ask from the same person more than once. If I don't receive anything after visiting seven or ten houses, I will not extend my rounds due to greed.' ॥ 1-110-13 ॥
english translation
alpama alpaM yathA bhòjyaM pUrvalAbhena jAtucita nityaM nAticara~la lAbhe alAbhe sapta pUrayana ॥ 1-110-13 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptवास्यैकं तक्षतॊ बाहुं चन्दनेनैकम उक्षतः नाकल्याणं न कल्याणं परध्यायन्न उभयॊस तयॊः ॥ १-११०-१४ ॥
'Whether I receive alms or not, I shall remain equally unperturbed, like a great ascetic.' ॥ 1-110-14 ॥

vAsyaikaM takSatò bAhuM candanenaikama ukSataH nAkalyANaM na kalyANaM paradhyAyanna ubhayòsa tayòH ॥ 1-110-14 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptन जिजीविषुवत किं चिन न मुमूर्षुवद आचरन मरणं जीवितं चैव नाभिनन्दन न च दविषन ॥ १-११०-१५ ॥
'If someone cuts off one of my arms with a hatchet, and another person smears sandalwood paste on my other arm, I shall regard both actions equally. I shall not wish prosperity for one or misery for the other.' ॥ 1-110-15 ॥

na jijIviSuvata kiM cina na mumUrSuvada Acarana maraNaM jIvitaM caiva nAbhinandana na ca daviSana ॥ 1-110-15 ॥
