[व] रूपसत्त्वगुणॊपेता धर्मारामा महाव्रता दुहिता कुन्तिभॊजस्य कृते पित्रा सवयंवरे ।। १-१०५-१ ।।

sanskrit

'Endowed with beauty, virtue, and great vows, she was devoted to righteousness. The daughter of Kuntibhoja, she chose her husband herself in her father's swayamvara.' ।। 1-105-1 ।।

'Radiant as a lion, broad-chested, with eyes like a bull, possessing great strength, and surpassing all other monarchs in splendor, he resembled another Indra in that royal gathering. Seeing Pandu, the best of men, in that assembly, the gentle daughter of Kuntibhoja, with faultless features, became greatly agitated. Thus, like Indra with the princess Paulomi, the illustrious Pandu, son of Kuru's lineage, was united with Kunti, daughter of Kuntibhoja, blessed with boundless fortune.' ।। 1-105-3 ।।

'Then Bhishma, the upholder of the Kuru dynasty's honor, spoke to the king of Madra, saying, "O vanquisher of foes, be aware that I seek a bride. We have learned of your sister Madri, famed for her beauty and virtuous nature; I wish to select her as a wife for Pandu.' ।। 1-105-5 ।।
