अध्यात्मं शरूयते यच च पञ्च भूतगुणात्मकम अव्यक्तादि परं यच च स एव परिगीयते ।। १-१-१९६ ।।

'The subject of Adhyatma, which is the overseeing spirit of nature and shares the attributes of the five elements, has also been expounded.'।। 1-1-196 ।।

adhyAtmaM zarUyate yaca ca paJca bhUtaguNAtmakama avyaktAdi paraM yaca ca sa eva parigIyate || 1-1-196 ||

यत तद यति वरा युक्ता धयानयॊगबलान्विताः परतिबिम्बम इवादर्शे पश्यन्त्य आत्मन्य अवस्थितम ।। १-१-१९७ ।।

'The scripture also delves into the understanding of Purusha, a transcendent entity beyond descriptors such as 'undisplayed.' Additionally, it sheds light on what the foremost yatis, free from the common destiny and enriched with the power of meditation and Tapas, discern within their hearts – akin to a reflected image in a mirror.'।। 1-1-197 ।।

yata tada yati varA yuktA dhayAnayògabalAnvitAH paratibimbama ivAdarze pazyantya Atmanya avasthitama || 1-1-197 ||

शरद्दधानः सदॊद्युक्तः सत्यधर्मपरायणः आसेवन्न इमम अध्यायं नरः पापात परमुच्यते ।। १-१-१९८ ।।

'The man of faith, devoted to piety, and constant in the exercise of virtue, on reading this section is freed from sin.'।। 1-1-198 ।।

अनुक्रमणिम अध्यायं भारतस्येमम आदितः आस्तिकः सततं शृण्वन न कृच्छ्रेष्व अवसीदति ।। १-१-१९९ ।।

'The first chapter of the Bhagavad Gita, known as the Anukramanika Adhyaya, is eternal. A person who listens to it with faith and dedication does not falter even in times of difficulty.'।। 1-1-199 ।।

उभे संध्ये जपन किं चित सद्यॊ मुच्येत किल्बिषात अनुक्रमण्या यावत सयाद अह्ना रात्र्या च संचितम ।। १-१-२०० ।।

'Reciting even a little during both sandhya (morning and evening) immediately liberates one from sins. Continuously chanting throughout the day and night accumulates merit.'।। 1-1-200 ।।
