[आ] यदा तु तान वितुदन्ते वयांसि; तथा गृध्राः शितिकण्ठाः पतंगाः कथं भवन्ति कथम आभवन्ति; न भौमम अन्यं नरकं शृणॊमि ॥ १-८५-६ ॥

sanskrit

'Ashtaka spoke, "As life fades with age, vultures, peacocks, insects, and worms consume the human body. Where does man then dwell? How does he return to life? I have never heard of any earthly hell called Bhauma!"' ॥ 1-85-6 ॥

english translation

[A] yadA tu tAna vitudante vayAMsi; tathA gRdhrAH zitikaNThAH pataMgAH kathaM bhavanti kathama Abhavanti; na bhaumama anyaM narakaM zRNòmi ॥ 1-85-6 ॥
