सुखं हि जन्तुर यदि वापि दुःखं; दैवाधीनं विन्दति नात्म शक्त्या तस्माद दिष्टं बलवन मन्यमानॊ; न संज्वरेन नापि हृष्येत कदा चित ।। १-८४-७ ।।

sanskrit

'In this world, individuals possess diverse natures. Destiny reigns supreme, rendering both power and effort ultimately futile. Recognizing the supremacy of destiny, the wise, regardless of their circumstances, should neither boast nor despair.' ।। 1-84-7 ।।

english translation

sukhaM hi jantura yadi vApi duHkhaM; daivAdhInaM vindati nAtma zaktyA tasmAda diSTaM balavana manyamAnò; na saMjvarena nApi hRSyeta kadA cita || 1-84-7 ||
