[य] ऋतुं वै याचमानाया भगवन नान्यचेतसा दुहितुर दानवेन्द्रस्य धर्म्यम एतत कृतं मया ॥ १-७८-३१ ॥
'Yayati responded, "Respected one, I was approached by the daughter of the Danava king to fulfill her fertility. I did so out of a sense of duty and not for any other reason."' ॥ 1-78-31 ॥
